We are excited to announce that Michael Poulin, our judge this Saturday has agreed to do a Test Review Clinic on Sunday. This will give you the opportunity to review your test from Saturday in a lesson with Michael on Sunday. This is a great opportunity take a lesson with an S judge and an Olympian and get insight on what he is looking for when he judges your test
Michael Poulin is considered one of the most influential US equestrians in the discipline of dressage. He competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, helping win a bronze medal in the team dressage. He later started and ran the Poulin School of Dressage at the Dressage Center in DeLeon Springs, Florida. He has been a long-time member of the Board of Directors and Dressage Committee of the United States Equestrian Federation, and helped found the United States Dressage Federation’s Instructor Certification Program. Poulin was a founder of the North American Dressage Trainers Association and is also a member of the Classical Dressage Riders Association. He has also served as a dressage judge both nationally and internationally.
Patrick Tigchelaar is an international dressage competitor and a certified Dressage Instructor, originally from the Netherlands. In Europe, he trained under Dutch Olympic rider Rien van der Schaft and his wife Inge, and was a student of the late German Master George Theodorescu.
He has shown successfully in the Netherlands and in Germany. Since moving to the United States, he has been a winning FEI competitor through Grand Prix, with many high-score awards with scores above 70%. Career highlights include FEI small tour wins at Dressage at Devon. He earned a spot on the Dutch Nations Cup team at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, FL. He has trained many horses through the FEI levels. Patrick is a talented trainer. He is patient yet demanding. He consistently brings out the best in riders and their horses. Patrick is an articulate clinician with a positive attitude. Patrick focuses on the whole horse as an athlete, using proven methods and principles to produce top quality results. He believes in utilizing training methods that span across all disciplines- incorporating ground work and natural horsemanship, basic jumping exercises, trail riding, obstacle courses... All as a way to build trust and confidence in our equine partners to be well rounded, solid citizens, in and out of the dressage ring. From Green to Grand Prix... WB or OTTB...
According to an article in Dressage Today, "Janet is an FEI 5* dressage judge, young horse judge and a USEF dressage judge. She has judged all the major shows in the United States and Canada, including the North American Young Rider Championships and the 2019 Pan American Games.
In addition, Janet has judged many of the top CDI 5* competitions in the world including the Tokyo Olympic Games, Paris World Cup Finals in 2018, the 2019 European Championships, the famous Aachen five-star, the Central American Games in Bogota and the Central American Caribbean Games in Puerto Rico.
